Shaman Guide for World of Warcraft
In the real word, a shaman is a believer of the spiritual world. In the World of Warcraft, the character Shaman is an integral member of any group that possesses great power and incredible skills. If you are thinking of choosing this character, then continue to read for a guide on how to become a great Shaman.
The very significant things to note before starting as a Shaman is to make sure that your own skills match well with this class and that you must look for a group that is also in need for a Shaman. First, you have to find a group that demands for you, for Shamans may become weak on their own. Single-handedly, they could not be very powerful, but when in a group, their abilities are a must and and can contribute more strength to the whole group.
Getting Started as a Shaman
I must tell you that the race of character for this class is quite limited. Only the Dranei can be Shaman for the Alliance, and the Orc, Trolls, the Undead or Tauren for the Horde. If you are on the Horde side, only the Trolls, Orc, the Undead or Taurean can qualify to be a Shaman. Although you must learn to accept some of these races’ weaker points, they too have strengths that can be rather useful in the long run.
Shamans use their mana points to cast some spells. Your goal is to use your mana points wisely by using moderate approach, not using too much nor too little. It is advised to use your mana in a medium scale, just when it is really needed. Avoid using too much or too little of your mana as you may either spend all of your time trying to regenerate, or rather risk losing valuable health points.
Shamans are known for their healing skills, that is why you must try to build up your spell arsenal, your ranged weapons and most specially, your healing spells. Since you are working with a group, you have to be always ready with your healing spells and potions, to assure the group of your importance.
Choosing a Shaman Profession

It would just probably be wasting time to work on more physical professions like leatherworking or blacksmithing. The best profession for Shamans are herbalism and enchanting. Although Skinning also has its own strengths, it can only be useful up to a minimal extent. Just remember to think of a right combination of primary and secondary professions.
You may consider herbalism and enchanting as you primary and secondary professions. Nevertheless, combining alchemy and herbalism or enchanting plus alchemy is not a bad idea. Others think that mining (as secondary profession) will help you get items, but it actually wastes your extra time in the game.
As a Shaman, the best way to make money would probably have to be by making potions. Potions are high in demand and very useful to Shamans themselves. In doing this, you could progress in skill and cook up more powerful spells and potions that will make you lots of money and acclaim.
{Although a tailoring profession can also be useful, most players like to purchase their own armor only when they need it}. Do not worry; for leather armors are available at Level 40 at an available price. During the journey, pieces of armors are given away as rewards. Therefore, choose a profession that will help you develop your skills for your group.
