GenevaSounds Sound Bar Speaker

GenevaSound Home Theater

Are you looking for a big dock-style speaker for your iPod or iPhone? How about a REALLY big one? Weighing in at 176 pounds and measuring 66 inches wide, 19 inches tall, and 21 inches deep, the GenevaSound Home Theater system is as much a piece of furniture as it is a sound delivery system. You can dock your iPod or iPhone directly into the system just like many of the other docking speaker models out there, but this one is better geared toward home theater than the others.

This stylish, piano-lacquered cabinet contains a 12-inch subwoofer, seven separate speakers, and an all digital 700-watt amplifier which delivers the power to the 2.1 surround system. It has a built-in FM tuner and CD player, in addition to the iPod docking capability.

The GenevaSound Home Theater is essentially an incredibly large and powerful speaker with audio inputs for TV and DVD, but there is also a video output so you can seamlessly watch your digital media from the iPod on your television. The wood cabinet is sealed to prevent buzzing and noise distortion you might normally expect out of such a powerful sound experience.

At $3,999 it might be a hefty purchase for some, but if you're looking for style, simplicity, and gigantic sound there are few rivals to the GenevaSound Home Theater.

Amazons New Kindle App for iPhone and iPod Touch

iPod Touch, iPhone, and eBooks–Oh my!

Amazon just released a free, new application so that iPod Touch and iPhone owners can read e-books purchased from the Kindle online bookstore. Kindle users can simply download e-books wirelessly, but iPhoners and iPodders cannot buy books directly through this application. Sorry folks, you'll have to access this through your web browser or home computer instead. The new Kindle app has all the same cool features as the Kindle 2 like bookmarking, noting, highlighting, and adjusting the font size, however, the controversial read-aloud feature is not included here. Amazon is still arguing whether or not the read-aloud feature violates audio copyrights. There are other ways to get your hands on e-books if you are an iPod Touch or iPhone owner without the Kindle application. Google offers over a million free e-books that are available to download. Lexcycle also provides a free application that lets iPhone users read digital books from eReader and Fictionwise.

iPod and iPhone Safety - Be Careful Out There

I came across an article today about injuries and deaths that are possibly related to cell phone and MP3 device use. Most of us think we are good at multi-tasking and don't realize how easy it is to be distracted while listening to an iPod or texting on an iPhone. All it takes is looking away for a moment while driving for an accident to occur.

Take a look at some of these stories on MyCellPhoneIsKillingMe.com. Our iPods and iPhones are supposed to be for our convenience and entertainment. Let's make sure we're doing all we can to keep it that way.
